Hi Harris,
I hope this email finds you well (and finds spring in full swing there). I wanted to give you an update on my graduate school process. I ended up applying to 8 schools, and miraculously got into all of them. I decided, with out much deliberation, to accept at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – it was my first choice and has a very competitive program. I was awarded a merit fellowship from the graduate school for my first year, so this is really a dream come true.
I have to thank you for all of your time and help during this process. Had we not worked together, I would never have been able to bring my scores up enough to get accepted. Thank you for making math easy and approachable, and for helping me to see that I’m not so bad at math after all. You really do have a gift! (You’re also a lovely person to interact with, a quality not all math tutors possess.)
If I ever need to take a standardized test again – God help me – I’ll be calling you!
Take care and thank you again. It was truly a joy to work with you.
After having taken a course with a large test prep company, I recognized that this wasn’t enough for me to get the score that I needed in order to be considered by MBA programs, because of all the things they don’t cover. After considering several GMAT tutors, I decided to contact Harris. Although he was slightly more expensive, our sessions were convenient because of the online option. This meant that I didn’t have to factor in travel time and the price for parking.
I have a mild learning disability and sometimes needed to spend a little extra time on some topics. Harris was very patient and even tailored his approach to suit my learning style. He would quickly find ways to help me to grasp the concepts. Instead of repeating himself, like most tutors do, he would vary the ways in which I could approach a topic or a question. He’s a very dynamic tutor. After our sessions, I would be excited to study what we covered. Harris gave me the confidence that I needed to obtain the desired score. I owe my acceptance to Harris because without him, I probably would still be studying.

HARRIS I DID IT! Thank you so much for all the guidance you gave me, and I’ll make sure to recommend you to everyone I know. Thanks again!!!!
After writing the GRE two times unsuccessfully, I knew I needed to change my strategy. We found Harris’s website and after reading about his approach and teaching styles, and the testimonials, we decided to give him a try.
Harris is very patient and kind, and is the type of teacher who guides you to understanding the material. After working with Harris for 6 weeks, I was able to reach the scores I needed to be considered for my program.
I want to say a big thank you to you for helping me with the math – I’ve had a number of tutors and I think that you were by far the most helpful, both with the actual math but also with strategy and encouragement. My little sister is planning to apply to business school within the coming year, so she will be in touch regarding lessons in the future.
I met with Harris several times. He played an important role in my score increasing from 640 to 730. There were no gimmicks; we simply practised many problems with new test-taking strategies after identifying my weaknesses. I would recommend him to anyone looking to achieve a better understanding of the GMAT and a subsequently better score.
Harris has an amazing ability at explaining subjects in a way that anyone can understand. Without his tutoring, I would never have been able to complete the GMAT and to achieve my dream of being accepted into an Executive MBA program. I truly recommend his tutoring to all looking to complete the GMAT with success.
I highly recommend Harris as a well-rounded GMAT tutor. Although I was skeptical to use an online approach, it worked out fine. He was responsive to e-mails and always punctual. Harris has an incredible grasp on all the concepts that the GMAT tests, which helped him teach me how to approach the problems strategically and efficiently.
I wrote my first GMAT test after several months of studying and taking a course through one of the big GMAT prep companies. I was unhappy with my results and knew I would need to take the test again, but I knew I would need help tailored to my problem areas. I had not taken a math course since high school. I found Harris’s website and began working with him. I immediately found his teaching helpful and I began to understand concepts, formulas and rules that I had previously had a lot of trouble with. His help was instrumental to me scoring 170 points higher than I did on my original test.
Harris provides a clear way to learn the key concepts and strategies of the GMAT. I would recommend him for anyone looking to do well on the GMAT!
I got 710. Nice! I’d like to thank you for the work you did with me. You were very important in my studies by encouraging me to aim high, and assuring me that I was not, in fact, as bad as I thought I was in the quantitative section. Your instruction was right on the money, and helped greatly. My Q score was 47 (76th %).
Thanks again – I think you’ve got a lot to offer your students.
I had been struggling with the GMAT and had decided to look for a new tutor. Harris has great knowledge of the material and the test itself and was able to help me focus on my weak areas and drastically improve them. Together we also came up with a new test writing strategy that worked much better for me. In just 4 weeks Harris was able to improve my score by 100 points and I couldn’t have done it without him.
Hello everyone! My name is Alexander. I am from Russia. I had been «fighting» with the GMAT for two years when I was lucky enough to meet Harris Silverman. I have known my weaknesses; they were AWA and Verbal Section of the test. I tried a lot of books, methods and even took a GMAT Prep course. But my efforts were all in vain though. My best score was 540 with 3.5 in AWA Section. Then I started to study with Mr. Silverman. I can say that his method helped me to open up my hidden strengths and to improve my writing. For me the best tutor is the one who directs you without telling you the right answer, the one who helps you to believe in yourself. I can affirm that Mr. Silverman gave me much more than I mentioned above. First of all, he believed in me even more than I did! Secondly, his method helped me to find the patterns by myself! Moreover, Mr. Silverman had made a great contribution in my work on Personal Statement Essay. And it worked finally! My GMAT Score became 620 with 4.5 in AWA Section after just a month, which is a great improvement for me! And I believe that it’s just the beginning! Now Mr. Silverman is not just a tutor for me, he is the person I trust and ask for advice when I have to make a decision. I would strongly recommend you to try it by yourself, believe me, you won’t be disappointed.
Hi Harris!
I got a 700!!!! (90th Percentile)
Thank you for being a part of my success.
When I found Harris Silverman’s website, I had less than 6 weeks to prepare for the GMAT. At that point I had not opened a math textbook in almost a decade and my knowledge of the GMAT was limited to what I read on the Wikipedia page. In the limited time we had available Harris not only helped to rebuild my foundation in math, he also coached me through the intricacies of the GMAT itself. During this process he displayed the patience and understanding that can only come from someone with a strong background in teaching. The result was a GMAT score of 680, one that I could hardly believe given the time constraints. I can say with absolute certainty that I would not have achieved this without Harris’s help.
The main reason I chose Harris was because of his years of experience as a teacher and the excellent results he produces. He is very understanding and patient, and he helped me structure my study.
After I sat for my GMAT, he also reviewed my Graduate School application essays. Through his guidance, I gained the confidence to believe I could realize my dreams. I have just received an offer to Oxford University and without his support, this would not have been possible. — accepted to first-choice school
I started working with Harris less than eight weeks before my GMAT. I had a score in mind, and wanted to meet or exceed it in one shot. As a music major and active performer, I had not done a stitch of advanced math since high school, and was in need of clear, concise, customized tutoring. Harris prepared me for the test systematically and efficiently. I not only built confidence in my weakest areas, but also learned effective strategies and time management that were a tremendous help on test day. I am so grateful to Harris for his patience and skillful training. I am the happy holder of a 680 on my GMAT, and I attribute my success to Harris and his great work.
Harris was a tremendous help when it came to preparing for my GMAT. I was getting 580s on all my practice exams and after less than a month of one-on-one tutoring with Harris, I was able to achieve a 690 on test day. Harris makes everything so easy to understand and I would highly recommend him to anyone who is struggling and looking for a superior alternative to those expensive classes. Thanks Harris!
Harris was a great GMAT tutor. He helped me improve my score by 110 points. His knowledge of the test, its content and test taking strategies were all very important and useful for improving my score. I would definitely recommend Harris if you are looking for help in preparing for the GMAT.
When I decided that I wanted to go back to school after working in the legal profession for over five years and not having taken a math course in over ten years, the GMAT was a daunting task. Harris provided me with a fully customized program that worked on the quantitative skills I sorely needed. Without his patient help, I would never have achieved the score I did on the GMAT.
I was very fortunate to work with Harris throughout my Grad School Application Process, and he was able to guide me through résumé-building, essay submission, and GMAT study. He provided honest, constructive and detailed feedback that allowed me to feel confident with the grammar, the quality, and the structure of my written submissions. My personal timeline to study for the GMAT was very short and I relied on Harris’s experience with both the test and with test writers to ensure that I maximized the effectiveness of my study time. Harris is a pleasure to work with!
Harris has a wealth of knowledge on how the GMAT is structured and what each question is truly asking. Under his coaching I gained invaluable time management and strategic problem solving methods that boosted my confidence in every section of the exam.
Harris also helped me frame my application to showcase my strengths in the best light and prepared me well for my interview.
With his GMAT coaching and his MBA application and interview guidance I was able to present myself confidently and successfully, leading to an offer to my top choice! Thanks Harris!
Harris is a fantastic GMAT coach. Over the course of just one month he helped me add 80 points, to my score, putting me over the magic 700 number required by top MBA programs. His patience and skill taught me the strategies I needed. Highly recommended.
Harris was instrumental in helping me identify my weaknesses in the GMAT, especially time management and AWA. He was extremely patient in breaking down the many aspects of writing a good essay, and his strategy for attacking different question types was very useful. My GMAT score improved by 110 points after Harris’s lessons!
Harris is an excellent coach.
I came to Harris shortly after I had written the GMAT and as I was preparing my application for the Ivey MBA at the University of Western Ontario. Harris and I met at his home office twice, and each session lasted about one and one-half hours. Together, we reviewed each step of the application. Harris and I strategized on subject and content of the three required essays. Afterwards, we discussed and clarified my medium- and long-term career goals and how the MBA would help me to realize them. My discussions with Harris helped me to focus my thoughts on the reasons for pursuing an MBA.
Consequently, I was able to express myself more clearly on the written application and later on during the in-person interview at the school. During the interview with the Admissions Officer I felt calm and in control; I was well-prepared for the interviewer’s questions, I knew how to express why I was a good fit for the school and what I wanted out of the degree program. Harris’s coaching added to my confidence, undoubtedly.
Throughout our meetings, I felt that Harris valued my time. Every minute of his coaching was worthwhile.
I have since been accepted to the MBA program at Western. It was and is my first choice. I was lucky in that I didn’t need to submit multiple applications to other MBA schools. I thank Harris for his guidance and expertise in preparing me to succeed on the first attempt.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Harris to one of my friends, colleagues, or another MBA hopeful. He really does know a lot about MBA preparation, business schools, gaining acceptance, and about how to use the MBA to increase one’s job prospects.
Harris has a tailored and structured approach towards teaching the GMAT. I came to Harris with a weak quant score. With Harris’s structured approach and patience I was able to build a solid understanding of the fundamentals required to conquer the quant section. Moreover, Harris’s five rules of sentence correction were invaluable in strengthening my understanding of the sentence correction section of the verbal section of the exam. Finally, being in a different time zone, namely the GCC, Harris’s flexible schedule and technology-based delivery were truly invaluable to my improvement.
